Technical assistance to the Tanzanian Insurance Regulatory Authority

The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) hosted a delegation of the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) from the United Republic of Tanzania at its Rabat headquarter from May 25th to June 3rd 2022.

Chaired by Mr. Baghayo Abdallah Saqware, Commissioner of the TIRA, the delegation was received by Mr. Othman Khalil El Alamy, Acting President of the ACAPS, and benefited from a technical assistance program that covered the themes of risk-based supervision and the prudential framework of risk-based solvency.

As part of the ACAPS' South-South cooperation strategy, this technical assistance allowed ACAPS to share its expertise with the Tanzanian delegation.

It should be noted that this technical assistance program was preceded last March by a technical and theoretical training on prudential supervision for the benefit of TIRA staff.
