The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) have organized, in collaboration with the Moroccan Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (FMSAR) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the first edition of the Moroccan Sustainable Insurance Day 2017 under the theme: The Role of the Insurance Industry in Sustainable Development.
This event aims to highlight the insurance sector's strategy with the aim of promoting the implementation of the Roadmap for aligning the Moroccan financial sector with sustainable development.
This first edition brought together high-level representatives of the main national and international players in the insurance sector to discuss the role that this sector can play in addressing climate change and environmental issues.
Two panels dealt with "Understanding and reducing the risk of sustainable development" and "Investing in sustainable development".
On the sidelines of this event, two conventions were signed:
- Signature of the Framework Partnership Agreement between the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, ACAPS and FMSAR relating to the promotion of investments in the environment and sustainable development field;
- Signature of Principles for Sustainable Insurance between ACAPS, FMSAR and UN Environment.
