The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare proceeded, Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 in the Omani capital Muscat, to the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Capital Market Authority of the Sultanate of Oman (CMA) in the field of supervision and control of the insurance sector.

This agreement was signed, on the one hand, by Mr. Othman Khalil El Alamy, Acting Chairman of ACAPS and, on the other hand, by H.E. Abdullah Bin Salem Al Salmi, Executive Chairman of the Capital Market Authority of Oman.
The agreement aims to strengthen the role of the CMA in the development of the Omani capital market.

About the CMA

The Omani Capital Market Authority was established in November 9th, 1998 and became operational on January 9th, 1999. It is a governmental entity with legal personality and financial and administrative independence. It is responsible for the development of the capital market and insurance sectors, including the preparation of studies and the establishment of appropriate legislation and regulations in accordance with international best practices.
