Meeting of Sub-Saharian regulators

The Prudential Authority of South Africa held a meeting for sub-saharian insurance supervisors in Pretoria on February 3rd and 4th.

The meeting was chaired by Ms. Suzette Vogeslang, third Vice Chair of the IAIS Executive Committee in charge of Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDE) along with the presence of M. Jonathan Dixon, Secretary General of the IAIS.

An update on IAIS' strategic initiatives for Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDE) within the strategic objectives for the period 2020 to 2024 was presented.

As an active member of the IAIS and more particularly regarding EMDE related issues, ACAPS took part in this meeting and was represented by Ms. Siham Ramli, Director of Communication and International Relations.
