Abderrahim Chaffai, Chairman of the Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS), met with Petra Hielkema, President of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), on April 19 in Casablanca.

This discussion allowed the two presidents to address the different areas of collaboration between the two institutions, as well as review a number of subjects of common interest, such as sustainable insurance, protection gaps, and risk modeling.

In this regard, Mr Chaffai and Ms Hielkema expressed a common desire to deepen discussions on these issues, strengthen partnership ties, encourage the exchange of expertise and best practices, and promote the development and application of international standards to support the development of the insurance and social welfare sectors, while protecting policyholders, members, and beneficiaries of rights.

It should be emphasized that this meeting is part of ACAPS' proactive international cooperation program, which aims to encourage the exchange of experiences, particularly in the development and oversight of the Authority's two areas.
