Signature of Memorundum of understanding between the ACAPS and the UTRF

Under the presidency of the Head of Government, Mr Saad Dine El Otmani, the Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) and the Financial Intelligence Processing Unit (UTRF), signed  this Wednesday, June 12th, a Memorundum Of Understanding  and cooperation.

The Memorundum of Understanding, signed by the President of the UTRF, M. Jawhar NFISSI and the Director of Insurance Supervision (ACAPS), Ms. Afifa Al Houari, comes to reinforce the engagement of the two institutions to fight money laundering and terrorism financing.  The agreement foresees the cooperation and collaboration modalities to develop between the two institutions in terms of information and documents exchanging, measures deployment and actions intended to effectively fight money laundering and terrorism financing, or experiences exchanging. Furthermore, the ACAPS and the UTRF agreed to establish a follow-up committee in charge of evaluating the actions taken under this agreement and to create technical working groups for common issues.

The Financial Intelligence Processing Unit (UTRF) is the Moroccan unit set to fight money laundering and terrorism financing. Its major mission is to contribute to the protection of the Moroccan economy and financial system integrity by fighting money laundering, terrorism financing and clandestine financial networks.
